“Realizing Balanced Nutrition Through Environmental Success from Public Health Students for the Gendro Village Community”

On October 13 and 14, 2023, students from the Public Health Study Program who were members of the ISMKMI Month (BULIS) committee carried out community service activities in Tutur District, Gendro Village, Pasuruan Regency. With the theme “Optimizing the Potential of Livestock Products to Achieve Balanced Nutrition Through Environmental Success,” students provided education and activities for the local community.

On the first day, the activities began with providing education at the Gendro Village Hall. This activity was attended by village officials, residents, and students who were conducting Real Work Lectures in Gendro Village. Mrs. Laura Navika Yamani delivered lecturer education with the material “Anthrax Counseling,” hopefully, residents will understand how it is transmitted and how to prevent an anthrax endemic. Not only that but education was also provided by one of the BULIS committees with the material “Distribution of Livestock Products” using social media Instagram and Shopee so that residents could distribute sales more widely. For residents who could not attend, the committee also conducted door-to-door education regarding the distribution of livestock products.

On the second day, activities began with health checks for all residents. Health checks include TB, BB, blood pressure, blood sugar checks, and health consultations with doctors. This activity was successful in attracting the attention of the residents of Gendro Village and succeeded in bringing in as many as 118 residents. Residents who have carried out health checks will receive souvenirs from the committee and sponsors, which will be distributed via goodie bags. Next, the activity closed with the distribution of necessities for the residents of Gendro Village.
